PMT smoothie

The spinach in this smoothie is full of non-ahem iron which is the plant based source of iron. When we are menstruating and losing blood we are also losing iron so its a good idea to top this back up, especially if you have heavy periods. Having spinach in your smoothie each morning is a great way to make sure your iron stores are topped up. But what you need to know about plant based iron is that it requires vitamin C for absorption. The lemon juice in this recipe will take care of that.


1 handful of spinach

1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

1/2 lemon juice

Thumb sized piece of ginger

1 tbsp. flaxseeds

1/2 cup of oat milk or alternative


Put the spinach in your blender cup first then add the other ingredients. Blend until smooth and enjoy.
