What is seed cycling?

Seed cycling uses the nutrients found in seeds, more specifically lignans to help balance your hormones. Seed Cycling is generally used for anyone suffering with menstruation issues, whether its a lack of periods, irregular or painful periods, tender breasts and so on. Seed Cycling can also be used by women during the peri-menopause to support the change in hormones.

How it works

During the first two weeks of your cycle (day 1 of your period to day 14) you will consume a mixture of flax seeds and pumpkins seeds each day. The lignans in these seeds specifically support oestrogen production which is the dominant hormone in this part of your cycle.

During the last two weeks of your cycle (day 15- day 28) you will consume a mix of sesame seeds and sunflower seeds which specifically support progesterone production which is the dominant hormone in this part of your cycle.

Seed cycling isn't a quick fix and should be followed for a couple of months before you start to see results. Keep a diary of your symptoms each cycle and watch how they change.
